I was born in Copenhagen and raised in Sweden.
I have travelled widely, mainly in South East Asia, India and America, working as a ceramic designer in Hong Kong and later as a freelance journalist and photographer. In 1988 I moved to England to concentrate on a full time career as a potter and sculptor in ceramics and bronze.
My work is hand-built using a mixture of press-moulding, slab building, carving and coiling techniques.
I am inspired by nature and the human form. I also like to make moulds out of found objects and incorporate them in my work.
I like playing with smoke firing techniques using a wide range of glazes and oxides to complement the spontaneous and rampant effects of the naked flame.
I show my work in galleries and art fairs around the country. For more information please go to my web site at www.annakeiller.co.uk
