Artist Statement
Although I have been involved in the arts my whole life - I studied Fine Arts and Education at Goldsmith's College, and then went into teaching. I feel that my true journey as an artist began when I gave up full time teaching and went to live and work in Berlin. Returning to England, I came, by chance to Hastings. I was immediately struck by the town and it's artistic community, and decided to stay. I think it's a very special place and I have experienced tremendous encouragement from the other artists I have met here, which has been very important to me. Because I am the kind of person who can only reach any clarity of thought by working through a muddle of ideas, I work intuitively through thoughts and images until I feel I have connected with something that feels right.
