Artist Statement
Much of my work derives from personal and emotional experiences. I attempt to describe these in symbolic images, rather than contriving to develop an individual style. To accomplish this I work with various media and techniques that I fell are appropriate to the subject or feeling I wish to convey.
As I now live on the south coast the sea & sky are a constant influence on my paintings. My most recent works are based on storms and the sea both of which evoke powerful emotions and seem to echo much of that which we struggle with in our lives.
That being said there is also a playfulness in my work that seek to entertain the viewer rather than making deeper statements.
