I saw myself solely as a painter until I decided to explore the possibilities of printmaking during my H.N.C. course.
Initially I investigated a wide range of print possibilities including monoprinting, etching, carborundum, screenprint, linocut and woodcut.
Ultimately I chose carborundum, monoprinting and etching as my specialism.
Through a thorough investigation into the qualities which these mediums have to offer, a way of working has evolved whereby after pre-determining the basic structure of print, I allow intuition and process to largely dictate the end result.
I am currently experimenting with combining collagraph and carborundum printing which has exciting possibilities.
